Tips to be Smart Fans
The best way to be smart fans is easy:  Cheer Only For Saints, Only Positive! Certainly a tip of the hat and/or positive recognition of our opponent show good sportsmanship, but we do not cheer negative against anybody, including officials.

Some tips to help our football team:
  • Cheer the loudest for our Saints when we are on Defense! - Particularly just   before for the snap on any 3rd down or 4th down when the opponent is going for a 1st down and not punting, or anytime our opponent is near either goal line.  This gives our defense a Boost!  If the opponent QB is dropping back to pass, yell PASS!  And then BALL! - when the ball goes in the air.  It sounds really cool if the entire team and stands do this together.
  • Be quiet when our team is on offense and the QB is calling signals - only cheer after the snap - and wildly after good plays! - Quiet down again as our QB starts to call his signals.
  • Always cheer positive and focus on our team positively.  Do not get sucked into yelling at the refs, this only distracts our team's focus from what they can control.  If other fans yell at the refs, drown them out with positive cheers for our team.  Both negative and positive cheering is contagious - so let's be positive and keep encouraging our team to overcome adversity through their efforts.

Let's help our team - fans can make a positive difference!
